Government and public sector

Secure the public services people depend on.

ThreatGaurd helps government departments, public sector undertakings and public bodies find and fix security weaknesses, prepare for formal audits and keep essential services running, with clear evidence for leadership and oversight.

Why it matters

Public services are always on, and always a target.

Government departments, PSUs and public bodies run services that millions of people rely on, and hold some of the most sensitive data there is. Attackers range from criminals seeking a ransom to groups seeking disruption or intelligence.

At the same time, many organisations manage decades-old systems, tight budgets and long procurement cycles. Security has to be practical, prioritised and easy to justify.

  • Legacy systems that cannot simply be replaced

Older platforms keep essential services running, but are hard to patch and secure.

  • Citizen data at enormous scale

Identity, health, tax and welfare records make public bodies a prime target.

  • Many vendors, shared responsibility

System integrators, hosting providers and contractors all touch critical systems.

Before and after the audit

Ready for formal audits, and quick to act on them.

Many public sector organisations must be audited by an approved auditor. We work alongside that process, so audits go smoothly and findings get fixed.

  1. Step 1: Prepare

Find and fix weaknesses before the formal audit begins.

    Led by

ThreatGaurd: readiness testing and gap review

  2. Step 2: Formal audit

The mandated audit is carried out independently.

    Led by

    Your approved auditor

  3. Step 3: Remediate

Prioritise the findings, fix them and verify every fix.

    Led by

    ThreatGaurd: remediation support and retesting

  4. Step 4: Sustain

Keep systems hardened and improving until the next audit.

    Led by

    ThreatGaurd: managed services and vCISO

FAQ

Questions public sector leaders ask us

Can’t find your answer? Our team is happy to help.

Can ThreatGaurd carry out mandated government security audits?

No. Where a policy or regulation requires an audit by an approved auditor, that audit must be done by an approved firm. ThreatGaurd helps before and after it: readiness testing, fixing weaknesses, remediation support, retesting and ongoing security improvement.

Who do you work with in the public sector?

Our services suit central and state departments, public sector undertakings, municipal bodies and smart city programmes, public utilities and the vendors that deliver systems for them.

Can you help secure legacy systems that cannot be upgraded?

Yes. Where replacing a system is not possible, we help reduce the risk around it through configuration hardening, network segmentation and tighter access, and document the remaining risk for leadership.

Can you work with our system integrator or hosting provider?

Yes. Many public systems are built and run by vendors. We coordinate testing windows and access with them, share findings in a form they can act on and retest once fixes are in place.

Will testing disrupt citizen services?

Testing is planned to avoid disruption. We agree windows, rules of engagement and stop conditions in advance, avoid destructive techniques on live systems and stop immediately if anything unexpected happens.
