Multi-Cloud Security

One security standard across AWS, Azure and Google Cloud.

ThreatGaurd assesses all your cloud platforms against a single, consistent baseline, so you can see where each one falls short, close the gaps between them and report on cloud risk as one picture.

Why it matters

Every cloud works differently. Attackers only need the weakest one.

Each provider has its own identity model, policies, logging and terminology. Teams that are strong in one cloud are often less familiar with another, and security controls drift apart as each platform is managed in its own way.

A multi-cloud security assessment measures every platform against the same standard, shows the gaps side by side and gives you one plan to bring them in line.

  • Inconsistent controls

The same policy is implemented differently, or not at all, in each cloud.

  • Identity spread across platforms

Separate identity systems, federation and service accounts make it hard to know who can access what.

  • No single view of risk

Each cloud reports in its own tools and language, so leadership never sees one clear picture.

Business outcomes

What a multi-cloud assessment gives your business

  • One consistent baseline

Every cloud measured and improved against the same security standard.

  • No weakest link

Find the cloud, account or control that is falling behind, before an attacker does.

  • Joined-up identity

Clear control over who can access what, across every platform.

  • One view for leadership

A single scorecard of cloud risk that boards and auditors can follow.

Cross-cloud view

Every cloud, side by side, against one standard.

Your report includes a cross-cloud scorecard like this one, so gaps between platforms are clear at a glance.

  • MeetsControl in place across the cloud
  • PartialIn place for some accounts or regions
  • GapMissing or not enforced

What we assess

Every area where clouds tend to drift apart.

We assess each area in every cloud you use. The exact scope is agreed with you during scoping.

  • Unified security baseline

One security standard, built from your policies and frameworks, and mapped to each provider.

    • Common controls across AWS, Azure and Google Cloud
    • Provider-specific settings for each control
    • Gaps and exceptions for each cloud
  • Cross-cloud identity

How people and workloads sign in and get access across platforms.

    • Federation and single sign-on with your identity provider
    • Privileged and emergency access accounts
    • Service accounts and keys used across clouds
  • Data and encryption

Consistent protection for sensitive data, wherever it is stored.

    • Public and cross-account sharing
    • Encryption and key management in each cloud
    • Data residency and replication between regions
  • Network and connectivity

Links between clouds, data centres and the internet.

    • Interconnects, VPNs and peering between clouds
    • Internet exposure of workloads and services
    • Separation between environments
  • Logging and detection

Whether security events from every cloud reach the people who respond.

    • Audit logging coverage in each platform
    • Central collection and retention
    • Detection that works across clouds
  • Governance and guardrails

Policies that stop risky changes before they happen.

    • Service control policies, Azure Policy and organisation policies
    • Account, subscription and project structure
    • Ownership, tagging and asset inventory

Methodology

One standard, applied the right way in each cloud.

We use read-only access in every platform and agree the right approach with you during scoping.

  • Multi-cloud posture review

Each cloud reviewed against its CIS Foundations Benchmark, with the results combined in one report.

    Best for

A fast, consistent baseline across all your clouds.

  • Most common

    Unified baseline and gap analysis

We agree one security standard with you, then measure every cloud against it.

    Best for

Most organisations. One standard, one scorecard, one plan.

  • Architecture and connectivity review

A review of how your clouds, identity provider and data centres connect to and trust each other.

    Best for

    Complex hybrid and multi-cloud architectures.

Standards we follow

  • CIS Foundations Benchmarks
  • CSA Cloud Controls Matrix
  • NIST CSF 2.0
  • NIST SP 800-53
  • ISO/IEC 27017
  • Provider security best practices

How it works

From read-only access to one consistent standard, in five steps.

  1. 01

    Scope and connect

We agree clouds, accounts and regions, and you grant read-only access in each. An NDA is signed before any access.

  2. 02

    Agree the standard

We build one security baseline from your policies, your frameworks and the CIS Benchmarks.

  3. 03

    Assess every cloud

We review each platform against the baseline, without making any changes.

  4. 04

    Compare and prioritise

We put the results side by side and rank the gaps by risk across your whole cloud estate.

  5. 05

    Report and verify

You receive the reports and a walkthrough, and we verify fixes once they are made.

Deliverables

One report for every cloud, with fixes for each.

  1. Executive summary One view of cloud risk across every platform, for leadership.
  2. Cross-cloud scorecard Each control measured in every cloud, so gaps between platforms are clear.
  3. Unified security baseline Your agreed standard, mapped to the specific settings in each provider.
  4. Prioritised remediation plan Fixes ranked by risk across your whole estate, with provider-specific steps.
  5. Verification report Confirms which gaps are closed, for your records and your auditors.

FAQ

Questions leaders ask about multi-cloud security

Can’t find your answer? Our team is happy to help.

What is a multi-cloud security assessment?

A review of all the cloud platforms you use against one consistent security standard. It shows where each cloud meets the standard, where it falls short and how to bring them in line, so you can manage cloud risk as one programme.

How is this different from a cloud security posture assessment?

A posture assessment goes deep into the configuration of your cloud environment. A multi-cloud assessment focuses on consistency: one standard, measured across every provider, with the gaps compared side by side. Organisations with one main cloud usually start with a posture assessment.

Which cloud platforms do you cover?

Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud, including how they connect to each other, to your identity provider and to your data centres.

Do we need to use the same tools in every cloud?

No. The goal is the same outcome, not the same tool. We define each control once and show how to achieve it with the native features of each provider, or with the cross-cloud tools you already use.

What access do you need?

Read-only access in each cloud, usually through dedicated roles or service accounts that you create and can remove at any time. Nothing in your environments is changed during the assessment.

How long does a multi-cloud assessment take?

Most assessments take 2 to 4 weeks, depending on the number of clouds, accounts and regions in scope.

How is the cost calculated?

Cost depends on the number of cloud providers, accounts and regions, and the approach you choose. After the scoping call you receive a fixed-scope proposal, so the cost is agreed before work starts.

Will your report support ISO 27001, SOC 2 or PCI DSS?

Our reports are structured to support ISO 27001, ISO 27017, SOC 2 and PCI DSS evidence, with an executive summary, a cross-cloud scorecard and verification results. The final audit opinion always rests with your auditor, so if a specific format or accreditation is required, tell us during scoping and we will confirm what we can provide.
